Trident Australasia has recently completed a project in Bass Straits on the new multipurpose pipelay, diving and accommodation support barge Aussie 1.

The vessel was contracted to Australia's Nexus Energy for installation of 12-inch subsea pipeline connecting the Longtom field to Santos' Patricia Baleen plant of about 12 miles (19 km) away.

Longtom contains an estimated 330 Bcf of gas reserves and 4 million barrels of condensate. First gas from Longtom is expected to flow from mid-2009.
